Financial translation: forex, markets and economic news
In the markets, a text has to be accurate and fast. An FX analysis published late is no longer useful, and a mistranslated risk warning is a compliance problem.
I translate and review content for brokers, fintechs and investment platforms into European Portuguese, using the terminology Portuguese investors know and the terminology of the Portuguese versions of EU regulation.

- Do you translate market news and analysis on short deadlines?
- Yes. In daily market content, the deadline matters as much as accuracy. I keep a glossary for each client so that terms stay the same from one day to the next.
- What differs between European and Brazilian Portuguese on an investment platform?
- Many, and most of them in the interface: utilizador, not usuário; ecrã, not tela; palavra-passe, not senha; conta à ordem, not conta corrente. Numbers too: decimal comma and space as the thousands separator.
- Do you follow EU regulatory terminology?
- Yes. In regulatory documents, I use the terminology of the Portuguese version of the legislation, such as «documento de informação fundamental» for the PRIIPs KID, and keep risk warnings with fixed wording unchanged.
